Cousin Edward Solomon (far right) has worked diligently with our newly discovered Borovoy cousin, Hartley Garshowitz, (a great-grandson of Freda Gittle (Shuster) Borovoy, sister to Shlomo (Shuster) Solomon) to complete our branch of the family tree (descendants of Shlomo (Shuster) and Chana (Posner) Solomon) in an electronic format compatible with the GEDCOM program that Hartley has been working on for a number of years. The Borovoy family has held regular family reunions since 1938! Shlomo (Shuster) Solomon and Freda Gittle (Shuster) Borovoy's parents were Yoseph Zaville Shuster and his wife Katya (Kaylia). (That's the root of the many Joey, Joe & Josephs and Kay, Katie, Kate or Kaylias in our family!) The Solomon Cousins in the front row are double 1st cousins: on either side of Abe Solomon are seated his first cousins, sisters Esther Rogow Moscoe (L) and Kay Rogow Davis (R). Their mother, Mary Solomon Rogow and Abe's father, Harry Solomon were sister and brother. And their father, Benjamin Rogow and Abe's mother Dora Rogow Solomon were ALSO sister and brother! So these cousins share the same four grandparents!
The Solomon cousin in the back row on the right, is Stanley Solomon, who is a first cousin to the three in the front. His father, Nathan Solomon, was Esther and Kay's mother Mary Solomon Rogow, and Abe's father Harry Solomon's brother. And the Solomon cousin in the back on the left is Leslie Solomon, nephew to Abe Solomon, (Abe's eldest brother Alex's son) and first cousin once removed (1C1R) to
Esther, Kay and Stanley!

BOROVOY FAMILY PICNIC, 2006

11:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m.
The picnic will be held in Area 1. From the Bathurst St. main entrance, stay to your right. Park in the first ‘parking area’ on your right, and area 1 is directly opposite this lot.
This notice is being sent out by e-mail to people for whom we have e-mail addresses, and by regular mail to everyone else for whom we have an address.

As has previously been advised, we are in dire need of a couple of volunteers (preferably strong, strapping young lads in their 20’s and 30’s, although the operative word is strong) to help ensure that we have about 8 or 9 picnic tables in our area. I will provide a 2 wheel dolly that will make this job much easier. In the past, I have done this myself. Sadly, the ravages of age and time and the movement of our galaxy to be closer to the planet Krypton’s red sun have sapped my super-powers. If we don’t get help to obtain and hold the tables by 9 A.M. at the latest, then bring your own blankets and chairs and be prepared to sit on the grass.
Any help offered for procurement of supplies and coordination of activities will be appreciated, if you would like to ensure the continuity of the Borovoy picnic! If you can help in any way, please contact:
